WAN Bottlenecks Easily Unclogged
Your Wide Area Network or WAN may be the bottleneck in your network when you have significant voice or data transfer between facilities. With lower line prices available, unclogging the WAN can cost less than you think and can unleash higher business productivity. Metro and Carrier Ethernet services from 10 Mbps to 1 Gbps give you the WAN bandwidth you need.

How is PoE used for IP Phones?
PoE or Power over Ethernet is a standard that defines a way to transmit electric power to network devices as well as information packets. When PoE equipment is installed in equipment lockers, an IP telephone gets its power from the network and does not need a separate AC power supply.

What is PBT?
PBT stands for Provider Backbone Transport. It's an adaption of Ethernet to extend Layer-2 switching into the WAN transport network. PBT was pioneered by Nortel and will be standardized by the IEEE as PBB-TE.

What is QoS and how do you get it?
QoS means Quality of Service. Most often you hear about QoS when referring to converged networks that transport both packet voice and data. QoS mechanisms may include prioritizing voice packets over data because voice is much more affected by latency and jitter.

What is 2BASE-TL?
The 2BASE-TL designation refers to an Ethernet over Copper delivery technology offering 2 Mbps per copper pair over metropolitan area distances from the central office equipment. It is part of the Ethernet in the First Mile project, also known as IEEE 802.3ah. This technology leverages existing copper phone line for native Ethernet WAN services.
